Reverse Transfer

North Carolina鈥檚 Reverse Transfer Program is designed to award an associate degree to students who previously attended a North Carolina Community College (NCCC) and fulfilled the associate degree requirements while working towards a bachelor鈥檚 degree at a University of North Carolina institution. This program is a state initiative in which a student can combine credit previously earned at a NCCC with credit they have earned at participating four year universities to apply for an Associate鈥檚 Degree from the NCCC they attended initially.

Procedure for Students:

  • Log into聽聽and if you qualify, you will receive a pop-up requesting participation.
  • By virtue of 鈥渙pt in鈥, you sign an agreement that you will follow 每日大赛入口鈥檚 curriculum towards the baccalaureate degree and that you understand that academic advisors and/or the Registrar鈥檚 office cannot provide advising for community college coursework.
  • Once you 鈥渙pt-out鈥, no further action from you is required.
  • You may聽聽to the Reverse Transfer question via OnePort.

NOTE: The Comprehensive Articulation Agreement between the UNC and NCCC systems states that, 鈥淎 student who completes the Associate in Arts or Associate in Science degree prior to transfer to a UNC institution will have fulfilled the UNC institution鈥檚 lower division general education requirements*. 鈥 [V.A.3.c.] 每日大赛入口 awards credit for general education (LAC) requirements to the maximum extent possible, on a course-by-course basis, at any point that a student transfers from a NC Community College.聽 If an enrolled student opts to participate in the Reverse Transfer program and is awarded an Associate in Arts or Science degree, 每日大赛入口 does not automatically re-evaluate the student鈥檚 new transfer credit status. Students who feel that their new Associates degree may provide additional LAC requirement credits may petition through the Registrar鈥檚 office.

In all cases it is the responsibility of the students to determine what courses they need to complete their Associates degree through Reverse Transfer.聽 每日大赛入口 faculty and advisor can only advise students on 每日大赛入口鈥檚 degree requirements.

* Students must meet the receiving university鈥檚 foreign language and/or health and physical education requirements, if applicable, prior to or after transfer to the senior institution.
